Considering today’s social scenario, the separation and divorce between couples, have gone up in leaps and bounds in all strata of society.

The role of a Family Court Lawyer take stock of the current situation of the client’s life and gives them direction.

There are several aspects and this involves several stages some of which are mentioned below

Legal Consultation

Party/parties concerned are counseled over a period of 2-3 sessions to carve a path towards litigation, whether the parties can amicably settle the matter, i.e. get back together for co-habitation, file for an amicable divorce or go in for a 1-sided divorce.

Filing Divorce Cases

The parties will give the instructions, and the history of the case which will include maintenance, custody, and divorce.

Maintenance

After discussions and the parties' needs, maintenance will also be discussed and accordingly pleaded for.

Custody

On the basis of the instructions given by the party, filing of custody will be done of the minor, i.e. below 18 years of age.

Domestic Violence (DV)

Various cases of DV i.e. Physical violence, Sexual violence, Psychological violence, and Economic violence. Other violence also considered are Spiritual violence, Cultural violence, Socio-economic violence, and Verbal abuse. Basically, any violence against children, parents, or the elderly which can assume multiple forms of the above-mentioned areas, comes under Domestic Violence.

After consultation, a decision will be taken whether to seek protection orders and maintenance and compensation
